Rhinoplasty
in Beverly Hills, CA

Our noses are focal points on our faces. They can bring balance and a sense of harmony to our features or draw unwanted attention and make facial features appear disproportionate. Some people feel that their noses are too big or small for their faces or perhaps have other shape issues that throw off the balance of their features.
Rhinoplasty can be a life-changing solution for those looking to reshape or resize their noses. Dr. Bruce Kadz performs rhinoplasty surgery in Beverly Hills to help patients achieve facial harmony and feel confident in their appearance.

What Is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is an incredibly common plastic surgery procedure that is performed to alter the size, shape, or functions of the nose. This surgery can reduce or augment the nose, remove humps on the nose bridge, minimize the width of the nostrils, change the angle between the nose and mouth, and more. Some people choose rhinoplasty surgery because they have always wanted a different look. Others may get this procedure because they are experiencing difficulties breathing or after suffering an injury that has altered their natural nose.
Am I a Candidate for Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty can be suitable for patients with a variety of nasal concerns, including aesthetic and functional issues.
Candidates for rhinoplasty are typically individuals who:
- Have a fully grown nose; adults & teenagers who have fully grown facial features can be candidates
- Want to alter the nose bridge, nostrils, or tip
- Want to correct nasal asymmetry
- Want to change the size or shape of the nose
- Have experienced breathing issues due to a deviated septum
- Have experienced an injury that has changed their nasal aesthetic and wish to restore their previous appearance

What Are My Rhinoplasty Options?
As rhinoplasty is very individualized, Dr. Kadz considers multiple factors, including skin type, facial dimensions, bone structure, and goals, to determine the surgical approach.
Open Rhinoplasty
An open rhinoplasty involves incisions on the outside of the nose, typically across the columella, the area of skin between the nostrils. Depending on the patient’s existing nose structure and goals, some people may be ideal candidates for an open approach to achieving their desired results.
Closed Rhinoplasty
Many patients like the closed rhinoplasty approach, which doesn’t create incisions on the outer nose. For this technique, Dr. Kadz makes incisions in the internal nasal structure.
Septoplasty
Patients with breathing problems due to a deviated septum can greatly benefit from septoplasty, a technique that involves straightening the septum to improve breathing.

How Is Rhinoplasty Performed?
Rhinoplasty is performed under anesthesia to ensure patient comfort during surgery. Once the anesthesia has been administered and the patient is ready for operation, Dr. Kadz will make the incisions. At this time, the bone and cartilage support system of the nose will be assessed. The majority of rhinoplasty incisions are made inside the nose, where they are practically invisible. In some cases, an incision is made in the area of skin separating the nostrils. Next, certain amounts of underlying bone and cartilage are removed, added to, or rearranged to provide a newly shaped structure. For example, when the tip of the nose is too large, cartilage in this area can be sculpted to reduce its size. The angle of the nose in relation to the upper lip can be altered for a more youthful look or to correct a distortion.
The tissues are then redraped over the new frame, and the incisions are closed. A splint is applied to the outside of the nose to help retain the new shape while the nose heals. Some soft, absorbent material may be used inside the nose to maintain stability along the dividing wall of the air passages (also known as the septum). Alternatively, soft nasal supports that permit nasal breathing postoperatively can be placed. The surgery is typically completed in one to two hours.
Q: What Is Rhinoplasty Recovery Like?
Some discomfort can occur during the first couple of days after surgery but can often be controlled with pain medication that Dr. Kadz prescribes. A little bleeding is common during the first few days following surgery, and you may continue to feel some stuffiness for several weeks. Within six or seven days after surgery, the splint and stitches are usually removed. Bruising may also occur and should fade so that you feel comfortable enough in social situations by around the tenth day after surgery. Swelling is also common and can take months to fully fade. Patients are typically able to return to work within one to two weeks. However, strenuous activities should be avoided for two to three weeks or longer, depending on Dr. Kadz’s instructions.
Q: What Results Can I Expect After Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is generally considered to be a permanent surgical procedure, meaning that the alterations made during the surgery are designed to last a lifetime. You’ll start to see your results once the swelling subsides over the next several weeks and months. It is important to understand that it can take up to one year for your final results to be revealed. Additionally, while rhinoplasty has long-lasting results, it is still possible and normal for your nose to experience some changes due to the natural aging process. However, the functional and aesthetic improvements to your nose should remain.
To ensure that your rhinoplasty results continue to look their best, it is recommended that you maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet of nutrient-rich foods and regularly exercising. Wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more and avoiding unnecessary sun exposure can also help maintain your new look for many years to come.
Q: How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost in Beverly Hills?
Since each rhinoplasty is tailored to the individual, the total cost will vary from patient to patient. When preparing for your rhinoplasty cost, it is important to understand that anesthesia fees, surgical facility costs, and prescription medications will contribute to the total price on top of the surgeon’s fee.
Q: What Procedures Can Be Combined With Rhinoplasty?
Some patients may be interested in combining their rhinoplasty with other cosmetic procedures so they can have the convenience of multiple results with one appointment. Candidacy for combination procedures is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the patient’s health history, goals, and other factors.
Procedures that may be suitable to be performed alongside rhinoplasty can include:
