Breast augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries across the nation. This procedure will increase the size or fullness of the breasts to meet your aesthetic goals. Learn more about what to expect from your recovery process after your procedure with Dr. Bruce Kadz in Beverly Hills, CA. How Long Is Recovery After a Breast Augmentation? In general, most people recover from this procedure after six to eight weeks. The time frame for your recovery may depend on factors such as the augmentation procedure you had, your general health, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. So, what can you expect from your recovery? From the first 24 hours to the last eight weeks post-op, here’s an overview of what you can expect after your augmentation procedure. Please be sure to ask Dr. Bruce Kadz any additional questions you may have about your procedure and aftercare during your consultation. First 24 Hours During the first 24 hours, you will need to completely avoid activity and hot water, which means you will not be able to shower. You will likely have prescription medications to manage your comfort after your procedure. You should arrange for transportation on the day of your procedure and ask a relative or friend to help you around the house. Your diet may also be limited, but be sure to drink plenty of water and walk around the house every few hours. First Week The first week after your procedure, you will be able to slowly return to some normal activities. As a general rule, you should avoid lifting anything over one to two pounds, which means that you may not be able to turn to work right away. You should try to sleep on your back as much as possible and avoid any pressure on your breasts. Furthermore, when you wash your incisions you should keep hygiene at the forefront, which means using sterile bandages. You should wash with gentle soap and warm water before applying any prescription medications to the incisions. First Month After the first month, you should be able to return to most duties at work. The exception is if you have a physically laborious job, in which case you may need to take more time off until you are more recovered. After the first four weeks, you can usually engage in many light activities and exercises, including walking or modified yoga. First Two Months After the first two months, you will generally be fully recovered and can resume most of your normal activities, including intense cardio. During this time, you may also have a post-op appointment to evaluate your recovery. How Long Will You Need a Compression or Recovery Bra? As a rule, you will need to wear a compression or recovery bra for six to eight weeks after your procedure. The recovery bra is designed to provide compression to your breasts to promote healing. You should wear your recovery bra for most of the day, including while you sleep. You should only remove the bra for bathing. That said, the best time to purchase your recovery bra is before your surgery. You should have at least one surgical, compression, or recovery bra on hand so you can ease into your recovery period. Because you will need to wear these bras for most of the day for several weeks, you may need three or four sets. When Can You Shop for Regular Bras? Most people can shop for regular bras about two months after their procedure. At this time, your breasts will be recovered and any residual swelling from the surgery will have gone down. This makes it the perfect time to buy a bra that fits your new breasts. Common Methods of Augmentation When you have breast augmentation surgery, there are a couple of methods of augmentation you can consider. While breast implants are certainly the most popular, fat transfers are also becoming popular. The method of augmentation that is ideal for you will depend on how much you want to enhance the shape and volume of your breasts. Breast Implants If you want to have fuller breasts and increase your cup size, then breast implants are generally the way to go. Breast implants come in many shapes and sizes and are made with different materials to customize your results. While some breast implants can mimic natural-looking and natural-feeling results, the profile of the breast is usually more obviously augmented. Fat Transfer Fat transfers are another option you may want to discuss with Dr. Bruce Kadz. A fat transfer works by removing fat from another part of your body, such as the buttocks, stomach, or thighs. The fat is then purified and injected into the breast to increase the volume of the breasts. It’s important to note that augmentation with a fat transfer will only produce moderate results. How to Choose the Best Implants Most people who are considering augmentation tend to select breast implants. Breast implants have a long-standing reputation for producing desirable breast shapes and textures. Choosing the best implants for you will depend on what your aesthetic goals are. For example, people who want more natural results may use teardrop-shaped implants that are made with gummy-bear-like material. Dr. Bruce Kadz will discuss the implant options that are most appropriate for your goals. That said, it’s important to remember that implants look best when they only increase your breasts by one to two cup sizes. Anything more extreme than this will produce unnatural-looking results that may cause stress to your neck, shoulders, and back. How Long Do Implants Last? For the most part, implants can usually last for 10 to 20 years. The longevity of your implants will depend on several factors, including how well you take care of your health and the material of the implants. Some implants can last for well over 20 years before they need to be replaced. That said, women who have breast implants in their youth typically need revision surgery after menopause, since the natural breast tissue decreases with age. If you want to revise your breast implants, please speak with Dr. Bruce Kadz about your options. Are You a Good Candidate? Most people who want to augment the size or shape of their breasts are good candidates for breast augmentation surgery. There are medical restrictions because the surgery will require general anesthesia. For example, if you have a low platelet count, if you have a history of cardiac health concerns, or if you are currently pregnant, you are not eligible for surgery. Some signs you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation include having goals such as: Enhance Your Appearance Enhancing the volume or fullness of your breasts can also enhance your appearance. If you want a more feminine silhouette or you simply want to balance the shape of your body, augmentation can be a good option for you. Reconstruct the Breasts Some women who have a single or double mastectomy after breast cancer may choose augmentation to restore or reconstruct the breasts. Reconstructing the breasts after breast cancer can help survivors feel more confident about their recovery. Correct Uneven Breasts Your body is not fully symmetrical, which means one of your breasts is probably slightly larger than the other. While this is completely natural, severely uneven breasts can make it difficult to shop for bras. If you want to correct uneven breasts, then augmentation can make breasts symmetrical. Increase Breast Size After Breastfeeding Breastfeeding is one of the greatest gifts of motherhood and allows women to bond with their infants. However, breastfeeding can also drastically change the volume of the breasts. Many mothers who are done breastfeeding choose augmentation surgery to restore their appearance. Feel More Confident About Your Body With Breast Augmentation If you want to feel more confident about your appearance or you want to start feeling like yourself, augmentation procedures for the breasts can help you have your dream appearance. The recovery time for the surgical procedure typically lasts six to eight weeks. Get in touch with Dr. Bruce Kadz in Beverly Hills, CA to schedule your consultation today.
How Can a Tummy Tuck Procedure Improve Your Figure?
Achieving your fitness goals isn’t always as simple as following a healthy diet or getting frequent exercise. This is especially the case for people who struggle with loose skin around their midsection. Weight loss, pregnancy, and aging can all lead to sagging skin around the stomach. While targeted workouts can help you lose excess fat in this area, they won’t address your loose skin. The most effective treatment is a tummy tuck procedure. Tummy tuck surgery can remove your loose skin and shape a slimmer midsection. Kadz Plastic Surgery can perform your tummy tuck in Beverly Hills, CA. Read on to find out how a tummy tuck can transform your figure and help you reach your aesthetic goals. What Is a Tummy Tuck? Also known as an abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck is a plastic surgical procedure that can improve the appearance of your midsection. The primary function of a tummy tuck is to remove loose skin and create a more sculpted abdomen. It is often performed along with other procedures, such as liposuction, breast augmentations, or breast lifts. What Can a Tummy Tuck Do? A tummy tuck can provide a number of specific benefits for those looking to enhance their figure. All of these pertain directly to the midsection — the area around your stomach and abdomen. Learn more about each benefit below. Remove Loose Skin The main reason that patients seek tummy tuck surgery is to remove excess loose skin from around their midsection. People struggle with loose skin on the stomach for a number of reasons. This skin can develop after significant weight loss, pregnancy, or as part of the natural aging process. During a tummy tuck procedure, excess loose skin is removed or resected. The remaining skin is then repositioned to create a flatter, more youthful appearance. Repair Abdominal Muscles Some people struggle with damaged or stretched abdominal muscles. This can occur with injury, physical activity, or pregnancy. A tummy tuck can repair the underlying abdominal muscles and create a more sculpted midsection. Reduce Unwanted Fat While a tummy tuck is not a weight loss procedure, small amounts of unwanted fat may be removed. A tummy tuck procedure is a great option if you carry extra weight due to loose skin. For more significant fat removal, a tummy tuck can be performed in conjunction with liposuction. Who Is a Good Candidate for Tummy Tuck Surgery? Good candidates for tummy tuck surgery include anyone who has loose skin around their midsection or stretched abdominal muscles. This includes older patients, those who have lost a moderate to significant amount of weight, or mothers who saw a change in their figure after pregnancy. If you carry a larger amount of fat around your midsection, you must lose weight before having a tummy tuck. Another option is having your tummy tuck performed alongside a liposuction procedure. For your tummy tuck to produce the best results, there cannot be a significant amount of fat in the midsection. The ideal candidate will be in overall good health and able to go under general sedation or intravenous anesthesia. If you have serious health concerns or cannot go under anesthesia, you may be unable to have this procedure. The only way to confirm that a tummy tuck is right for you is by having a consultation with a plastic surgeon. We will examine your abdomen and go over your desired outcome to determine whether tummy tuck surgery is right for you. How Is a Tummy Tuck Performed? During a tummy tuck surgery, an incision is made along the lower portion of the stomach, just above the pubic area. The size of this incision will vary depending on your existing shape and unique concerns. Through this incision, underlying abdominal muscles can be accessed for repair. Any loose or excess skin will be removed, and the remaining skin will be repositioned tight and firm. Once the optimal shape has been achieved, your incision will be closed with staples or sutures. You will then be moved to a recovery room to wake up. This entire process can take anywhere from two to five hours to complete. If you are receiving a tummy tuck along with other procedures at the same time, your surgery will be longer. What Is Recovery Like After a Tummy Tuck? A tummy tuck is often performed as an outpatient procedure, which means you will be able to return home the same day as your surgery. If your tummy tuck has been performed alongside other procedures or if you have certain extenuating circumstances, you may need to remain overnight for observation. We will send you home with compression bandaging around your midsection. This provides extra support to help you heal properly. The bandaging can typically be removed about one to two weeks after surgery. You will need to avoid strenuous exercise, sports, or excessive physical activity for about four to six weeks after your procedure. Direct impact to the surgical site can hinder the healing process and alter your results. Is a Tummy Tuck Permanent? Your tummy tuck will permanently remove excess skin and repair your abdominal muscles. With that being said, your outcome can be altered over time. Things like pregnancy, injury, and weight gain can all impact the results of your tummy tuck. Tummy Tuck in Beverly Hills, CA Are you looking for the best tummy tuck surgeon in Beverly Hills, CA? Who Is a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift Procedure?
Do you have sagging, drooping breasts that change your overall figure? The shape and position of your breasts can be either a detriment or complement to your shape. But age and weight loss can cause your breasts to drop downwards in an unflattering way. You may be interested in breast lift surgery to obtain a more appealing figure. Breast lift surgery is designed to lift and reposition the breasts, creating a more flattering shape. Kadz Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, CA, provides breast lift procedures for women looking to enhance their figure. Learn more about the benefits of breast lift surgery and who qualifies as a good candidate below. What Is a Breast Lift? A breast lift procedure is a plastic surgical treatment designed to improve the appearance of the breasts. Unlike breast augmentation, a breast lift does not add volume to the breast. Instead, it repositions your existing breast tissue into a higher, more flattering position. If there is excess loose skin due to weight loss, this skin can be removed to give the breasts a firmer appearance. Who Is a Good Candidate for Breast Lift Surgery? Patients seek breast lift surgery to give their breasts a perkier, more lifted appearance. These patients often have breasts that sag downwards or sit lower on the chest than they would prefer. The following are all factors that could make someone a good candidate for a breast lift procedure: Prior Weight Loss Those who have lost a moderate to significant amount of weight might see a change in the way their breasts look. The loss in volume can cause the breasts to become empty and drop downwards. They typically struggle with excess loose skin left behind as well. These patients can benefit from a breast lift procedure because it will remove their loose skin and lift the breasts upward to fit their new figure. Pregnancy and Childbirth Certain bodily changes occur during pregnancy and after childbirth. Women see a major difference in how their breasts look, most often due to fluctuations in weight and volume during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Their breasts may appear to hang, looking sullen and aged. A breast lift can help reposition the breasts and restore their perkiness. Aging The aging process leads to many changes in a woman’s appearance. One of the most notable changes is in the breast tissue. Collagen loss makes the skin wrinkle and sag downwards, while natural volume loss makes the breasts droop and look empty. A breast lift can help older patients achieve a more youthful figure by returning the breasts to a higher position and removing loose skin from the chest. How Is a Breast Lift Performed? The surgical approach to a breast lift can vary slightly depending on the patient’s needs and desired outcome. The main difference between breast lift procedures lies in where the incision is made and how excess skin is removed. Several types of incisions can be made during a breast lift, including the following: Crescent With a crescent incision, a curved incision is made above the areola, and a small amount of skin is removed. The remaining skin is then closed, and the breast has a higher appearance. This is a good option for patients with minimal sagging. Donut A donut incision is made in a circular shape around the areola. Excess skin is then removed to lift any sagging and create a perkier shape. This is another good choice for patients with minimal sagging and hanging. Lollypop Lollipop incisions include a circular incision around the areola and a vertical incision that extends from the areola to the bottom of the breast. This removes excess skin around the nipple and bottom portion of the breast. The remaining skin is then closed tighter, giving the breast a firmer and lifted appearance. It is the preferred approach for those with moderate sagging. Inverted T An inverted T incision is essentially a lollipop incision with an additional line made horizontally along the middle of the bottom portion of the breast. This means that skin is removed in a circular shape around the entire areola and in a cross formation on the bottom half of the breast. This type of breast lift is intended for those with the most pronounced sagging who are looking for a significant result. What Happens After Breast Lift Surgery? The entire breast lift procedure can take anywhere from two to four hours to complete. Breast lifts are most often performed as outpatient procedures, which means you will be able to return home the same day after several hours of observation. In some cases, patients may be required to remain overnight. After your breast lift surgery, you will be sent home with compression bandaging around your chest. This is to promote optimal healing and support while the newly altered tissues are still sensitive. You must avoid strenuous exercise and contact sports for about four to six weeks after your procedure. This is to prevent trauma or direct impact to the surgical site while it is still healing. What You Need to Know About Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills
Plastic surgery has been around for thousands of years. In fact, the earliest forms of plastic surgery can be traced back to 800 B.C. when an Indian surgeon named Sushruta developed a way to reconstruct a person’s nose using tissue from their forehead. Of course, plastic surgery has changed a lot since then, but it has remained a part of the human experience throughout history. Today, cosmetic plastic surgery is more popular than reconstructive plastic surgery, and millions of cosmetic plastic surgeries get performed every year. Whether you want to get rid of a bump in your nose, tighten up loose skin, or minimize the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, a plastic surgery procedure can help you. At Kadz Plastic Surgery, we love helping people achieve the best possible versions of themselves. But plastic surgery isn’t a decision you should rush. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know before scheduling a consultation for plastic surgery in Beverly Hills. Why the Surgeon You Pick Matters Many people look for the cheapest or closest plastic surgeon, but that could be an expensive mistake. The surgeon you pick is the person you are entrusting with your most important possession — your body. If you don’t do your research to find a trustworthy, board-certified surgeon with a good reputation, you could end up with less than satisfying results. Kadz Plastic Surgery is a provider of top plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, and you can rest easy knowing you’re under our expert care. Dr. Kadz is not only board-certified and extensively experienced, but he also belongs to a handful of professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Who Is Plastic Surgery Right for? Exactly who should have plastic surgery? This is a question we hear a lot at Kadz Plastic Surgery. Most people have an idea in their heads about what the typical plastic surgery patient looks like. But the truth is, we see a vast assortment of patients, including men and women of all ages and ethnicities. Generally speaking, plastic surgery is right for anyone who wants to enhance one of their physical features. You should also be in good overall health and have realistic expectations in order to be a good candidate for plastic surgery in Beverly Hills. What Kind of Plastic Surgery Procedures Are Common in Beverly Hills? When it comes to the most popular, or top plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, some procedures are increasingly common, while others have fallen out of fashion. Below are four of the most common procedures we offer at Kadz Plastic Surgery. Facelift A facelift can help turn back the hands of time by tightening and smoothing the skin on your face. Facelifts are ideal for addressing common signs of aging in the face, including loose or sagging skin and fine lines. Brow Lift While facelifts are great for targeting the lower half of your face, a brow lift is ideal for targeting the upper half. A brow lift can help minimize the appearance of deep-set forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Breast Augmentation Breast augmentation is by far the top plastic surgery in Beverly Hills. A breast augmentation can enhance the size, shape, and volume of your breasts. Treatment is highly customizable, so you can get whatever feels best for you. Tummy Tuck If a little bit of stubborn skin after weight loss or pregnancy is keeping you from having the body of your dreams, a tummy tuck may be right for you. A tummy tuck can help smooth and firm your stomach to create a more toned and sculpted appearance. What About Non-Surgical Options? Some people are not ready for the investment and commitment that come with plastic surgery. But that’s okay. If you’re apprehensive about surgery but still want to address some cosmetic concerns, there are several non-surgical treatments that may be able to help. For example, you might choose dermal fillers to help address wrinkles. However, non-surgical procedures are limited in what they can do and typically only provide a temporary solution. For many people, plastic surgery provides longer-lasting and more meaningful results. Can You Combine Surgeries? If you have several different surgeries you’re interested in, it may be possible to have them all at once. Many people do this to save time and money and minimize the time they have to take off from work. During your consultation, we will discuss what results you’re looking for and whether the procedure you’re interested in can achieve them for you. If your goals cannot be met with a single procedure, we may recommend adding a complementary procedure to fully realize the look you’re after. For example, it’s common to combine a facelift with a brow or neck lift or to combine a tummy tuck with a breast lift. Looking for the Best Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, CA? What Are the Benefits of a Mommy Makeover?
Carrying a child and becoming a mom is a monumental experience like none other. But having a baby changes absolutely everything, including your body. No matter how much research you do, you’re not really prepared for the changes your body undergoes during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and motherhood. Your once full and perky breasts may sag or droop now. Or you may have a little bit of extra skin at the bottom of your tummy you just can’t seem to shake. A mommy makeover at Kadz Plastic Surgery can help you reclaim your pre-baby body by addressing some of the changes your body has undergone. Read on to learn what’s included with a mommy makeover and the benefits of undergoing this popular procedure. What Does a Mommy Makeover Procedure Include? At Kadz Plastic Surgery, a mommy makeover typically includes the following procedures. Tummy Tuck Many women have difficulty bouncing back after the dramatic changes their stomachs go through during pregnancy. Since your tummy had to stretch so much to accommodate your growing baby, you might be left with stubborn excess skin that just won’t tighten up. A tummy tuck can create a smoother and tighter-looking abdomen by removing excess skin and fat that won’t respond to exercise. Additionally, it’s common for your abdominal muscles to weaken and sometimes separate during pregnancy. This is a condition known as diastasis recti and can lead to the appearance of a protruding “pouch” of sorts. As part of a mommy makeover, a tummy tuck can tighten, tone, and even strengthen your abdominal muscles to create a firmer and better-sculpted contour. Breast Lift or Augmentation During pregnancy, and especially while breastfeeding, your breasts become larger and feel fuller. However, once you stop breastfeeding, they lose a significant amount of volume. As a result, they lose the filled-out contour they once had and may begin to sag or appear flatter. During your mommy makeover, you have the choice between a breast lift or a breast augmentation, also known as an enhancement. During a breast augmentation, implants are inserted to improve the shape and volume of your breasts and increase the overall size. Whereas a breast lift simply restores your breasts’ natural teardrop shape without increasing their size. Monsplasty During and after pregnancy, your body begins to store fat in new places, one of them being the pubic area. This can result in a slight bulge to your pubis mons that most women would rather do without. During a monsplasty, the excess fat in the mons area is removed to create a smoother and more appealing contour. It also helps create a more cohesive look when you’re already getting tighter and more toned with a tummy tuck. Benefits of Mommy Makeover Surgery Some people wonder whether a mommy makeover procedure is really worth it or if they’d be better off with non-surgical treatments. But the decision is easier to make once you learn about the multitude of benefits of a mommy makeover at Kadz Plastic Surgery. Significant Results Can Be Achieved Mommy makeovers can create dramatic before and after pictures since multiple procedures are done at once. You’re not just changing one small feature on your body; you’re undergoing a pretty serious makeover that will alter the way multiple areas look. How Does an Arm Tuck Work?
Do you wear shirts and dresses with sleeves in the summer because you feel self-conscious about the appearance of your upper arms? Do you believe that your arms are making you look older or heavier than you really are? If so, you may be considered a good candidate for an arm tuck at the office of Dr. Bruce Kadz in Beverly Hills, CA. This procedure can improve the appearance of your arms and help you to feel more confident in your body. How Does an Arm Tuck Work? An arm tuck improves the appearance of the upper arm, primarily, by removing excess skin. This is accomplished thanks to a strategically placed incision. There are three places the incision can be placed depending on your unique circumstances. The exact placement of the incision will be discussed during your initial consultation. We can also advise you on whether you will benefit from other procedures, like liposuction, during your initial consultation. Other ways an arm lift improves the appearance of the upper arms include tightening loose skin and removing a small amount of excess fat. However, you will need upper arm liposuction if you are concerned about a large amount of fat. What Happens During the Procedure? The arm lift process can be broken down into a few simple steps. The first step involves preparing you for your procedure. First, we will ensure that your upper arm skin is not irritated. If it is, we will not be able to proceed with the procedure as scheduled. Assuming your skin is free from irritation and you are not ill, we will sanitize the upper arms. Then, we will use a washable marker to guide the incision placement in the next step. The last part of the preparation process is to ensure that you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. If you only need an arm lift, you will most likely be administered a local anesthetic. If you are improving the appearance of other regions of your body, too, you will probably be given general anesthesia. We will advise you on the right type of anesthesia based on your health and goals during your initial consultation. The Second Step The second step of an arm lift involves making careful incisions guided by the lines we drew in the preparation step. These incisions will allow us to remove a small amount of fat between your underarm and elbow. However, you shouldn’t expect much fat loss from an arm lift; it is not a fat removal procedure. Once we’ve removed some of your excess fat, we will remove any excess upper arm skin you may have. Once you no longer have any excess upper arm skin, the remaining skin will be tightened. If you are concerned about a large amount of upper arm fat, we can insert a cannula and suction device into the incisions made to remove the excess skin and remove a lot of upper arm fat. The Final Step Once your excess upper arm skin has been removed, your remaining upper arm skin has been tightened, and we have removed excess upper arm fat, your incisions will be sutured closed. Then, you will wait in your hospital gown for the effects of the anesthesia to wear off. Once you are fully awake, we will review your post-op care guidelines with you. Make sure you have a ride home; you will not be able to drive after the procedure. What Happens During the Recovery Process? Everyone’s post-op recovery process is unique. If you have a sedentary job, you may only need to take three to five days off from work to focus on your recovery. However, you should keep in mind that you cannot drive within 24 hours of taking certain analgesics. Therefore, you may need to work from home or have someone drive you to work if you take prescription analgesics after your surgery. If you have a very active job, you may need to take a couple of weeks off from work to recover. Regardless of how much time you take off from work to recover, you need to keep in mind that rest is crucial to the recovery process. You should aim to sleep for nine hours consecutively every night, and you should also nap whenever you feel particularly tired. Don’t be surprised if you need to nap during the first one to three days post-op if you get general anesthesia. What Can I Do To Speed Up My Recovery Process? If you want your recovery process to go as quickly as possible, it’s not just important that you rest. It is also important that you eat and drink right. For the first two weeks post-op, it is crucial that you do not drink alcohol. Alcohol consumption will affect your blood pressure and lengthen your recovery time significantly. It is also important to avoid nicotine consumption during this time to keep your blood pressure normal. In addition to not smoking and drinking alcohol, you need to make sure you’re staying hydrated. Your urine should be pale throughout the recovery process. If you notice it is dark, make a point to drink more hydrating fluids. Also, make sure you are eating plenty of protein and vitamin C. These nutrients, particularly if you are well hydrated, will be used to bolster the collagen in your skin so it can heal the incisions made during your surgery. Am I a Good Candidate for This Procedure? We will advise you on whether you are a good arm tuck candidate during your initial consultation once we have discussed your health thoroughly, discussed your desired outcome, and evaluated your current aesthetic. If you are relatively healthy and neither pregnant nor breastfeeding, there is a good chance you will qualify if you’re worried about the appearance of your upper arms. Just keep in mind that this procedure may not be ideal if you plan to become pregnant. Every pregnancy is unique, but it is not uncommon for pregnant women to gain upper arm fat during their pregnancy. If you gain and subsequently lose a significant amount of weight in your upper arms, there is a chance that you will be left with excess or loose skin and need a follow-up procedure. Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction? Whether you are a good liposuction candidate largely depends on how much subcutaneous fat you have in your areas of concern. While you may have visceral fat, lipo can’t do anything about it. It can only remove excess fat near the surface of the skin. Generally, there should be at least one inch of pinchable fat in an area of concern, like the upper arms, but there can’t be too much excess subcutaneous fat. As a general rule of thumb, if you are no more than 30 pounds from your goal weight, you will probably qualify for liposuction. However, this procedure is not right for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and it may not be right for women who plan to become pregnant in the future. It may not be right for pregnant women due to the potential of significant fat gain and the need for a follow-up procedure. Where Can Lipo Remove Fat From? Liposuction can be used to remove excess subcutaneous fat from pretty much anywhere there is the right amount of excess fat. For instance, it can be used to remove a significant amount of fat from the upper arms. It can also be used to remove excess fat from other areas, including the chest, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, back, and neck. How Long Will My Lipo Results Last? Liposuction removes a large percentage of the fat cells in the treatment areas. After the procedure, the treated areas are permanently smaller because adults can’t grow new fat cells. However, you’ll need to keep your weight relatively stable after your procedure for permanent results. Schedule Your Initial Consultation Today Do you think an arm tuck would help you improve your self-confidence? Do you think exercise would be easier if you had less upper arm skin? If so, you may be considered a good candidate for an arm lift. It helps to improve the appearance of the upper arms by removing excess skin, tightening loose skin, and removing a little bit of fat. Contact us today at the office of Dr. Bruce Kadz in Beverly Hills, CA to schedule your initial consultation and learn more.
