Congratulations, you’ve found the love of your life! If he’s already popped the question, all that’s left to do is plan every detail of your fairytale wedding. There’s a lot that goes into your big day, from cake tastings, to choosing flower arrangements and that dreaded seating chart. With all of the running around you’ll be doing to prepare for your wedding, you’ll probably be as slim as a rail. However, just in case you wanted to glance at them – here are our 5 tips to for shedding for the wedding:
Save the carbs for the honeymoon
True love waits…to eat carbohydrates. We all love pizza, and pastries, and donuts, but if you’re carbo-loading before the wedding, your dress is going to be a tad snug. Our bodies prefer to use carbs as our main source of fuel, if we eat too many carbs, our bodies create fat storage to use as energy later. On the other hand, if we eat to few carbs, our bodies will seek to use another source of energy, such as stored fat. In other words, reducing your carb intake teaches your body to burn fat instead of carbs, and reducing your calorie intake allows your body to burn that fat. Additionally, cutting carbs can help you lean out, getting rid of extra water weight that keeps you bloated.
Work with a personal trainer
With your wedding day quickly approaching, you don’t have time to mess around. Hiring a personal trainer will give you the structure and accountability that you need to stick to a health and fitness program. Additionally, these professionals with be able to design a plan that is unique to your body and your goals. Your wedding photos will be around for life, so put in the hard work now!
Go easy on the drinking
Truthfully you shouldn’t be drinking if you’re trying to shed a few pounds, but its just not realistic for the months leading up to the wedding. Going out for celebratory drinks with your girlfriends, and meeting up for family dinners are pretty typical. So if you can’t quit drinking all together, learn to be smart about it. Repeat after me…whiskey DIET, Vodka DIET, Gin and DIET; or even better, drink vodka and soda water with a few limes. Under no circumstances should you be drinking beer if you’re trying to lose weight (refer to number 1).
Trust the process
Your relationship with your fiancé didn’t blossom overnight (unless you’re reading this from a Vegas wedding chapel). so how can you expect your fitness goals to become a reality overnight? Losing weight takes hard work, discipline, and most importantly a commitment to stick to the process. Even if you’re not seeing results at first, don’t give up, it will all be worth it when you’re walking down the aisle and everyone’s jaw hits the floor.
